Phenol (C6H6O), is also called carbolic acid and hydroxybenzene. It is the simplest orgnic matter, and a kind
of weak acid. It is a kind of colorless crystal at normal temperature. It is toxic and corrosive. It is slightly
soluble in water at room temperature. It is easy to dissolve in orgnic solution. When the temperature is
higher than 65OC, it can dissolve mutually with water in any proportion. If your skin is sprayed with its
solution, you should wash it with alcohol. If esposed to the air, it is pink.
